Im building a budget PC; planning on using a a64 3200+ or a 3500+. Was wandering if this mobo would be able to work, or if you have another suggestion for what I should use let me know. Keep in mind Im not trying to spend a lot here. Im going with a x800xl pci-e card as well.

BIOSTAR NF4UL-A9 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard--------$109

http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product. ... 6813138249

Thanks for any input

Personally, I would take a Foxconn over a BIOSTAR.

I have two suggestions over the Biostar:

MSI K8N Neo4-F - $90 shipped
Chaintech VNF4/Ultra - $99 shipped

Yeah, I'd sugguest the MSI or Foxconn. I've never heard of biostar before, and having a motherboard by a reputable company is important because it really sucks to have to replace a motherboard. I think Foxconn is the company that makes the connectors (PCI slots for example) for every motherboard, so they've been around for a while, but I think they're new to making their own motherboards.

Actually, Foxconn is one of the biggest mobo suppliers for OEMs. You can trust on their stability there.

I only gave the suggestion of the Foxconn mobo because it was the cheapest nForce4 mobo with Firewire. If you don't use Firewire at all or don't plan to, skip it and go down to either mobo One4 advised.

Thanks for the advice, MSI is my prefered choice of board anyway. To be honest though when I looked on newegg I didnt see an MSI board that was PCI-Express for under $150, thats why I put the Biostar up on here. I guess thats an advantage to having a forum you discuss with others; so people can show you things you didnt see the first time. Anyway..... I recently made a new post called "New build/ suggestions welcome", check it out to see the other parts I picked for the new computer Im building, maybe the help you gave here will be as valuable for the rest of my parts.
