Hey everyone, I hve been seeing some very good advice on here towards others building there new rigs and figured it might help in getting a few suggestions.

I plan on ising this rig for video editing, 3-D graphic design a little down the road (wish to keep it upgradable), some gaming, net surfing, DVD burning along with music system.

I already have collected;
Thermaltake Tsunami case
Antec 480 power supply
Asus P5AD2-E Premium motherboard w/925xe chipset
Intel P4 650 CPU
Sony DRU - 720 dual DVD burner
Audoligy 2 sound card and 5 unused games (current computer too slow)

I already had
Sony DRUA-710 single layer burner
2 Maxtor 80gb 7200rpm IDE hard drives
Antec Lansing surround sound system

Need to get

CPU Cooling system (really do not want water cooled)

DDR2 Memory 2gb

Video board (I have an all in wonder on my current pc and really love it) possibly use two boards here, one for TV in and a graphics card. one has to be PCI Express 1x16 and the other has to be PCI (motherboard dictates this)

2 Sata hard drives 250 or above (I may run a raid system due to the enormous possibilities with the motherboard. I could also leave room for adding 2 more Hd's. I could start with my current drives to give time to collect more money for the new ones though allowing me to get the needed parts to get up and running)

Possibly a third cd/dvd drive or a second fast dual layer sata drive

Windows XP Proffessional 64bit

Any ideas for the remaining parts or my unforseen problems with the build.

All replies welcome

and thanks for any time you may put into posting (I have seen some of the detailed research you guys give and thanks are the least you deserve)

How much can you spend on the video card? If you can get a 6800 Ultra, thats a really, really good card. If you're in the $200 range, a 6600GT would also be awesome. Thats what I'm getting.

I don't know anything about DDR2 so I'm not going to say anything.

As for a CPU cooler, any simple cooler will do unless you're overclocking like mad. I personally got this one, it's a Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu.

There is also this one, with a bigger fan.

Very quiet coolers.

if you got $400 to spend on the GPU then you can go with a X800XT/XL/XT PE not sure which is better, but the X800XT is recommended a lot from what i see.
