Hello

I've decided that I need a new gaming PC, because this old duct-taped PC is just not cutting it.
So I've got the cash (£800-£1000) but I need some help on certain parts (if not all of the parts, as I'm not aware of what's compatible with what.), but for now, here's what I have on my shopping list so far:
~~~
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£161.98 @ Amazon UK)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master V8 69.7 CFM Rifle Bearing CPU Cooler (£47.33 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Kingston 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 Memory (£131.98 @ Dabs)
Storage: Western Digital VelociRaptor 1TB 3.5" 10000RPM Internal Hard Drive (£191.16 @ Scan.co.uk)
Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 650 2GB Video Card (£98.98 @ Dabs)
Sound Card: Asus Xonar DG 24-bit 96 KHz Sound Card (£24.36 @ CCL Computers)
Monitor: Hannspree HL249DPB 23.6" Monitor (£106.85 @ Amazon UK)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit) (£69.10 @ CCL Computers)
Keyboard: Gigabyte GK-K6800 Wired Standard Keyboard (£13.66 @ Dabs)
Mouse: Gigabyte GM-M6880 Wired Laser Mouse (£9.95 @ CCL Computers)
~~~
Firstly, is this build compatible? I used "pcpartpicker.com", and here is what I don't know anything about;
-Motherboard
-Case
-Power supply
-Optical Drive
What should I be looking for?
I'm after compatibility (which I'm completely lost on at the moment), reliability, and medium to high performance, at a reasonable price (as you can gage from what I've picked above).
I have next to no knowledge about PC parts and how to put it together, but that's all knowledge I can gain easily, and/or my uncle can help me make it.
So! Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
