Im building my first gaming rig - 3rd gen ivy processor - 1155 Intel socket

I was wondering if this build is any good (and if there is any way i can lower the cost without lowering quality - or should i just save more money? - Am I missing anything? Will everything work Together

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 --- $50
MOBO: Asus Sabertooth Z77 LGA 1155--- $240
CPU: Intel i5 3570k --- $230
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 660ti --- $300
RAM: 8gb Corsair Vengeance (2 x 4 gb) DDR3 1600 MHz --- $40
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast Series (TX) 650 Watts --- $90
Blu-Ray Writer/Burner: Asus BW-12B1ST --- $90
Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212+ --- $25
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM --- $100
SSD: Samsung 830 Series 128GB --- $90 (NOT SURE IF I WANT)
OS: Already own Windows 7 Home Premium

Also what about Windows 8? Will it work with this set up? Or does it not matter, etc.

TOTAL Price --- $1255 ($1165 w/o SSD)

Thanks for your time/considerations/help
Yes this is my first time building a rig, yes i want to play most games on high to max settings - particularly Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3, Star Craft 2, Border Lands 2, and most FPS games.
