Alright i'm planning on upgrading my computer within 2 months to an sli setup. The max i will spend in $2000. The only thing is right now i have antec neopower power supply. Is this sufficient for a sli setup or should i get a different?

Cpu- amd 3500 or better
Video card - 6800gt or ultra? and brand?
Ram - (1GB just need to a good brand)
Hard drive -
Mobo - asus, dfi, msi?
Aftermarket cpu heatsink and fan -?
Power supply - i've been lookin at this one if my current wouldnt
work.SilverStone Zeus ST65ZF

I already have a decent case ( coolermaster wavemaster). But what about vga coolers for the cards? Anyone have any trouble with sli setup for overheating?

yea your gona need a new PSU for that High-end SLi Rig

here is what I'm thinking

CPU:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 465&depa=1
$385

Video:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDe ... 215&depa=1
$394

RAM:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 450&depa=1
$171

HD:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 166&depa=1
$208

MB:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDe ... 487&depa=1
$179

Aftermarket cpu heatsink and fan:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 118&depa=0
$39.99

PSU:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDe ... 021&depa=0
$199

$1575.99
thats the way it is now but if you want the SLi option add $394 to the total and it will be $1969.99

i wouldn't get that PSU it gets great watts but neither +12v rail is decient even for dual rail standards (don't get me wrong dual rail is good) the first rail only is 15 amps and the second is a pathetic 8 amps.

to get the actual amp rating don't look at the new egg stats look at the close in picture.

which the HDD to this its cheaper and much better:

what psu would you suggest than for my sli setup? and I've heard some bad things about the evga card but not sure if its true. i'd rather pay a little more for a good quality card than one that may not be worth a damn in the long run cause it'll have to last me couple years hopefully. thx for input so far. P.s. perfer to shop from zipzoomfly but items from other sites is still helpful thx.

Right now i'm lookin at this setup

Mobo- http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDe ... ode=241159 - $173

Ram- http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDe ... e=80097-17 - $168

Cpu- http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDe ... de=80721-R - $376

Video card(2) of them- http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDe ... ode=326012 -(1)=$439 (2)=879

Hard drive- http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDe ... 6-1-316603 - $65

With tax =$1782.47

Still not sure on power supply yet. But i figured on the hard drive that the month after i get this stuff setup i'll put in another hard drive high capacity one. Still need more input for an aftermarket cpu heatsink, fan combo. but have plenty to play with still.

well you can always get a PSU from PCPOWER&COOLING, maxpc always put one of their units on all of their dream machines and the new ones that came out even support the SLi config.

I think you read a little too quickly, that PSU has 3 12V rails, 15A-12v1, 15A-12v2, 8A-12V3

If you are going to spend that much on a PSU, may I also suggest this one
Same 38 Amps on the 12V, plus 2 separate shielded leads to use for your video cards. Also, adjustable voltage pots so you can fine tune the voltage exactly where you want it. I have it's smaller sibling, the 520 W version, and it has everything you would need for PCI-E and SLI.

wow i looked up that thermaltake psu at zipzoom fly and the price difference is crazy. http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDe ... ode=370559 for $159 rather than the $199 at newegg.

But has anyone heard about his psu? SilverStone Zeus ST65ZF heres a link http://www.dealsonic.com/sizesttibl65.html
