The X79 platform will almost always make a good PC and if you have the money go for it. You might be able to save a little on a few other parts but the PC will still be good none the less.

The X79 system itself. Getting a Z77 and an Ivy Bridge system will offset at least $300-$400.

Do you have a set budget you are looking to stay within? I see you are spending $3300+, but you could easily drop that a couple hundred dollars if you wanted.

You could also get a lot more performance out of your system if you swapped the i7-3930K for say an i7-3770k or i5-3570K and your MOBO for a Z77 MOBO, then added another GTX 670, and you would be at around the same price point.

You could also drop your RAM to 8GB to save about $50(broken record saying around here) because that's all you will ever need for gaming.

If you could give us a budget you want to keep I think we can suggest a really nice setup that gives you a lot more bang for your buck then what you have selected so far.

i don't have a set budget but i don't want to spend any more than the AU$3300 by switching the 3930k with the 3770k I save $200 and form the rampage 4 to the z77 sabertooth i save $100 but is it worth losing those 2 extra cores and the other 2011 socket goodies to save $300? since half of the reason for this pc is for video editing (the other is gaming) i would rather spend the $50 and get more speed with editing, but i know most games don't use 8GB but doubling the ram for $50 isn't that bad i would say 60% of the time gaming 20% video editing and the rest is just general stuff that is not very intensive eg web browsing etc. as I said before i don't have a set budget but around AU$2500 for the tower (CPU, gpu, case etc.) and no more than $500 for the other stuff (eg mouse keybored and monitor) i think in the future i will be adding to this rig as well so i would like it to be good for a long time. thinking of adding another gpu to do SLI and adding another monitor or 2
