Hello All,

I am in the planning process for a new gaming build. The idea for the finished computer is to end up with a very clean, aesthetically pleasing, monochromatic (black and white color scheme) build with high-end components. Here are the details so far:

- Budget = $2000 give or take 10% (not including shipping or tax)
- Schedule = I will buy / build around 15 July
- Preferred source = Newegg / Amazon
- Items I will reuse = Keyboard, mouse, Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium & Samsung 24” LCD monitor
- Monitor Resolution = 1920 x 1200
- Primary Usage = Gaming; mostly RPG’s (Skyrim, ME3, etc)

As you can see I already have most of the peripherals. I have attempted to do my due diligence and research but I am open to advice on component selection, price, value, etc. If you see something that is not compatible please let me know. If you have an idea for anything could be better please let me know.

Case (I like the look, and the painted interior was a must):
Corsair 650D $179.99

CPU (Newer architecture versus over clocking potential. I am very open to suggestions in this department):
i7-2700K $319.99

Or

i7-3770 $319.99

Motherboard (Chosen for the clean look more than anything else):
Asus Sabertooth Z77 $239.99

GPU (I hope they come available soon):
EVGA GTX680 w/backplate $549.99

RAM (Also open to suggestions. I chose these for the color more than anything):
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) $129.99

Operating System HHD:
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD $129.99

Data HHD:
Seagate Barracuda 1TB $99.99

Optical Drive:
Lite-On DVD Writer $19.99

PSU:
Corsair AX750 $169.99

PSU Sleeving:
Corsair Pro Series Sleeved Modular Cables $89.99

Cooling
Corsair H100 $114.99

Total = $2044.89 before tax, shipping and MIR’s.

Well, let me say I appreciate any advice and suggestions, and thanks in advance.
~mm

Well... As far as I can tell you've went with a black & black color scheme. For black and white might I suggest the Corsair 500r, or 600T special edition cases (White & Black). Mobo is fine. Go with the 3770. Why not take advantage of the latest tech for a new build? Corsair makes their Vengeance LP RAM with a black PCB/White heat spreader. Your original choices are fine, but if you want the black & white color scheme these are good alternatives. Good Luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. I must have missed that RAM on my initial look. I think that it will make the final build sheet.
