Maximum PC

Hi guys.
it's been a long long time since I've been active on the forum, and a little bit longer since the last time I built a rig. It was right around the time the i7 first came out. Anyhow, I'm looking to build a workstation this summer, somewhere in the range of $1000-$1500. I will primarily be using it simply to write code for school and things like that, but it will also be used for CAD/Solidworks type of applications and maybe some light Photshopping and video editing here and there when I get bored. I have mice and keyboards laying around so those do not need to be figured into the cost of the machine. I've got an extra 1 TB HDD in another rig that I would be willing to use for a storage drive in this build if need be. I also have a monitor (22" Hanns G) that I can use for a while if it would significantly increase the hardware quality of my new machine to do so. Thanks for any help!
