I'm going to be starting a build project this summer; I am wanting to build a awesome gaming monster. Im pretty new to this and I've done most my research and browsing on newegg. There are just so many options for everything and I just don't know where to start. My goal for this computer is to be able to play BF3 smoothly on its highest settings. Im also going to be playing other games, BF is just a bigger concern. I want to be done with this build hopefully by the end of summer or at the latest by Crysis 3 comes out, that's one of the main reasons I'm wanting to build a gaming beast. About my budget, I want to get the best parts for this for the best price, it is going to take a while since I'm going to save a little out of my checks. I want to buy everything online and my used on eBay. Should I buy one part at a time starting with the case or know what I want and save my money and buy it all at once? Like I said, there are so many options for video cards and all that I just don't know what ones to look at. So my question for you is starting with the case, and going through everything else, what parts I could get for a gaming beast. I'm looking to spend around 150 for a case, Im more concerned for the ventilation over looks but looks are nice. And I don't want SSD's for the memory, im looking just to get 1 TB normal one. What are your suggestions on what I can get and if they work together. What video card should I get, if it's pretty expensive but really worth it I'm willing to save up for it. So budget really isn't a factor, it's just going to take some time to get this thing together.

All at once. If you buy it over time, it's going to be a project that never gets done.

SilverStone focuses a lot on ventilation, but they're a boutique brand. If you can afford one, I'd get it. Otherwise other options to look at are NZXT, Corsair, Cooler Master and Antec. I think Antec is also a little more focused on ventilation like SilverStone, but they don't charge up the rear. The other's I'm sort of flaky on, but they're usually the most bought brands.

If it's now, a GeForce GTX 670. But considering you probably don't have enough money for everything yet, the future could hold something nicer. But this alone can play BF3 on Ultra rather smoothly.

Save up about $1000-$1200, you'll have your rig soon enough.
