Hey guys, I have had a problem with my PC not turning on when pressing the power switch... I thought it could be the PSU, but the green light turns on on the motherboard when plugged in. After months of not touching the PC and minor troubleshooting, I found out yesterday that the double pins (in a set of 14, the 2 pins that corresponds to the female end of the power switch wire) is missing one. In fact, several pins are missing. I have taken my PC in the trunk in long, long car rides, after which this happened, but there are no signs of damage... if anything, some of the remaining pins are slightly bent. So, as to avoid buying a new motherboard, where could I buy these tiny pins, and would they just insert into the empty space, ready to plug into?

Double check your troubleshooting to be sure it's not a PSU problem or a flaky power switch. A glowing LED means power is getting somewhere but does not guarantee there is no other power problem.

The pins are soldered securely into the board. There's no way they would randomly walk away. Find some good large hi-res pictures of the same motherboard online to verify you really have pins missing and you're not mistakenly looking at holes or soldering spots that might be there for other versions of your board.

If the pins are broken, they can be replaced by anyone competent with a soldering iron (bonus points if the person has a desoldering station). An old dead motherboard, graphics card corpse, or similar component is a good source for harvesting pins.
