So I have been saving and saving to build a new computer, I only have $340 and that has to include shipping. I will be re-using things like my 500GB Sata HDD, 550w PSU and my OS.(Win7\64)

What I have is...

Intel D945GCL
2GB Patriot DDR2 800mhz
Intel Pentium D 945 3.0GHz (x2) @3.4GHz
ATI Radeon 4670
500 GB Seagate 7900rpm 500GB SATA II HDD
550w Raidmax (I think) PSU
Cooler Master Hyper Tx3
Old case

What I am going to order Wednesday from Newegg...

COOLER MASTER Elite 311 (Orange Trim) $39.99

SAMSUNG 22X DVD Burner SATA Model SH-222BB/BEBE $15.99

ASUS F1A55-M LX PLUS $59.99

Mushkin Enhanced Redline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model 997052 $57.99

AMD A8-3870K $119.99

So my question is, are these the best arts I can get for this price ??

I think this configuration looks good. I would consider upgrading the ram a bit to 16gb (2 x 8gb chips) as the slots on the MB are limited and you will want to take full advantage of them, but again that is just my opinion, overall I think the configuration looks good.

How soon do you need a new computer? The things you will be doing with your computer are? I would reuse the old chassis to save money.

I need a new computer ass soon as possible which is why I am buying it on Wednesday, the old tower was from an emachines and I messed up the rear I/O when installing the motherboard I have's I/O shield, also only one of the USB ports works on the front, so I need a new tower....

I will be using this for the same things I use my current rig for, webdesign (ADWCS 5.5), video encoding (done currently with Sony Vegas and my HD4670) and light gaming (Steam and BFBC2).

I know there are better options but I just don't have a whole lot of money, seems like every time I have close to $1,000 something happens and I need to spend it on that, for instance had a $500 ceiling fan short out, and it cost me $650 to replace and have the electricion come out to wire it correctly. (Did not trust lightbright to do it again.)

I've used that case a few times on budget builds it is actually quite nice. It only lacks the 120mm mounts on the bottom/side/top but it vents so well through the front they are practically not needed (unless you are OC, SLI, etc). If you have some hdd's that run hot just add a 120 or 140 front fan (I think it only has a rear 120 installed).

They currently have a good deal on the CM Elite 430 $45, free shipping and $10 MIR (in case someone reads this and is looking for a decent cheap case)

Micro Center also has a killer combo deal - if you live by one the brick-and-mortar stores:
Phenom II X6 1045T $99
and $40 off selected am3 mobos, I got this one
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 $69 (in cart) and $10 MIR
(in case someone reads this and is looking for a decent AMD combo)

cheers
