Ok, it seems that I have been postponing my build forever, and I am getting a bit anxious to get my PCs as the games are starting to come out that I want to play. The purpose of the build is MMO and FPS gaming and general PC use with an eye for longevity.
I waited for Ivy Bridge...it is here!
I waited for Kepler....it is here but not available.
My motherboard of choice is not out yet, but I can substitute without a problem.
The Question:
Is it worth the wait for the 680s to appear later this month/early next month, or should I just go for the 7970?
I do prefer Nvidia, but not so much that I won't run AMD.
Either GPU is good. Yea, one is better than the other in some avenues. That is pretty much with anything. Nvidia in the past has had better drivers for Linux environments. If you are in Windows, then this does not matter as much. Just buy an AMD 7970 GPU. The prices on some models are pretty decent now.
