Hey all, new to the forums (1st post actually). I've been PC shopping, and I'm feeling a bit lazy so I don't want to build my pc this time around. So I'm looking for a good deal on a pre-built. Just found this new listing on newegg...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6883227417

Seems pretty good for the price. What do you guys think? :)

It looks good, though I would throw in an SSD for the OS.

I'm also under the impression that iBUYPOWER is bare minimum service for an OEM. Meaning tech support is pretty much non-existent.

Yeah I've been thinking out getting an SSD to go with it. As for iBuyPower, they seem to have mixed reviews, but I'm pretty good with computers so I can usually figure things out without tech support. Usually I build my own PCs but I'm feeling lazy this time around. And it seemed like a decent price... so I figured what the hell.

RE: what LatiosXT said, Dell is actually better with support. In fact Dell purchased Alienware, however, a lot of people have complained about Alienware support [mostly laptops so far] after Dell purchased them.

Check out what Digital Storm has to offer, they have a much better track record than Alienware problems and support.

And, by the way, there is nothing wrong with an Intel Core i5 2500K CPU except lack of PCIe 3.0 motherboard support, you need Ivy Bridge for that.

Actually Alienware and Digital Storm were the first 2 places I looked. But this price was really low compared to them for basically the same thing (though I'm not seeing 3rd gen processors on their sites yet). So I figured I'll go for it. It sold out shortly after I bought it too... so I guess others were on the same boat as me.

I do wish the RAM was a little faster though, that'll probably be the first thing I upgrade down the line.

And yeah, I'm thinking I might have to pick up an SSD for my OS and Guild Wars 2 when it comes out lol. ;)

Thanks!

You are very welcome. Have fun with your new computer.

By the way, before purchasing new RAM or doing anything to your computer, see how it performs in games. You may not need to do anything to it.

Yeah I'm sure it'll be great in games... maybe I'll upgrade it in a year or so. :)
