Maximum PC

Hi Guys

First time builder here.

Specs
CPU: Intel i7 IvyBridge 3770k
Motherboard: Asus P8z68-V Pro/Gen3
Memory: Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Memory
CPU: Corsair CX600

I've just put all this together but having trouble booting up. I hit the power switch and fans kick in, but the CPU and DRAM LEDs start flashing one at a time, the system then shuts down and restarts doing the same. Removed the RAM and switched on again and this time only the DRAM LED was lit, and system stays on! I've tested out all the memory slots as well.

I've tried resitting the memory and checked the CPU but still having the same problem. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? Could the memory be an issue?

Was just looking at the P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 cpu support list and it only lists sandy bridge - maybe return it for a z77?

Allegedly Z68's can support Ivy Bridge with a BIOS update.
