1. What games?
2. Whats your budget?
3. Anything other than gaming on this machine? Anything intensive like video editing?
4. Can you wait a few weeks for the new Intel processors to come out (April 29th)?

Thinking about the standard World of Warcraft (when the new expansion comes out)
Diablo 3, SWTOR, BF3, League of Legends, ect.

I would definitely like to do some video editing.

I actually already bought my motherboard and processor, unfortunately I didn't know that there was a new Intel processor coming out.

For my entire set (including my mouse, keyboard, display) It's around 2200 dollars, I would like to stay around there, but I guess my main concern is the video card. I want something that is new and will be able to work well and be "dated" rather then "outdated" for the next couple of years. Even though with how much our technology is changing every year you know what I mean hah. I don't know what the best specs are. I know I don't want to spend 400 dollars or more on one though.

You don't need a Core i7-2600K unless you use heavily threaded tasks on the side. Considering you're gaming, they're not heavily threaded. Also if you're not going to overclock, you can shave off some more money by not getting the K series. A Core i5-2500 or 2500K would be just fine. And you can use the difference in costs to possibly get yourself a GTX680.

The video card: consider amd 7850-performance is very close, but it will save you power because it draws

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2012 ... .html?prod[5454]=on&prod[5447]=on

130 vs. 252 watts.

But then I have a better idea: reduce your ssd size to 64gb, since you will be using a 1tb drive for storage, and take the money you will save and spend it on a much better video card. I think extra $200 for a better video card is a good choice. (since you will be playing blurays I assume resolution will be 1920x1080 at least-a big screen demands more video card during gaming).
