I have no idea if this has been asked or not but I am asking it cause I can't find an answer. I like the roku 2 LT but don't like the fact of no USB port or network streaming access(other than 4 channels that can). But my question is do you have to buy channels on the channel store? Or are most free and a few paid like netflix? Or are most free and have premium content?

Idk, and would like to know.

That said, I'd still say go for the HTPC, because you can customize it, get better performance, and play games more serious than Angry Birds. For watching choices, you get Hulu, Netflix, Youtube, Vimeo, etc., which is more than the Roku at the local tech store can do.

HTPC unless it is for some one under the age of 10. I considered getting a Roku for my 4yo twins but then decided they would destroy it with a vengeance while just investigating it. Maybe in another year or so. Do you have a meadia server of sorts?

Yes I do have a media server of sorts and I do have a lot of movies. But like I said my main question is Do you have to pay for most things on Roku channel store or is it free?

Dude, check out BoxeeBox. Got one, love it. Does everything I need it to do with no extra costs and everything it appears you need it to do as well.
