The nvidia 6600gt beats the x700 by far! The 6600gt  is clearly the choice in my opinion with a clock speed of 500 and a memory speed of 1000 this is a ver good card. For brands I would get msi, evga!, and bfg.
I my self would go for the evga 6600gt 128mb :!: :!:

Don't pay attention to specs like memory and clock speed too much. They are totally dependent on the architecture. Most cases the 6600gt is the better choice though. I have the leadtek myself and it works great.

Don't forget! If you get a PCI-e version of the 6600GT, you have the opportunity to upgrade to 2 6600GTs in SLI in the future. IMO, even if the 6600GT was a few frams lower, the SLI capability is better.

So the x700 is better, right? It's kinda like golf, lower is better.

So would it be safe to say for $180-$200 the best card is the 6600 GT and for $300 the best card is ATI 800XL ??
