I just purchased an Alienware Area-51m 7700 with all the bells and whistles today. :D Still waiting on build and shipping. :( The specs say it has a TV in but requires a TV tuner card. I bought this for military deployments and I would like to be able to use it as a display for console games and camcorders durring R&R time. I am good at desktops but this will be my first experience with a notebook. Any help you guys and gals could give me to use this as a "TV" would be greatly appreciated.

I am on a federal worker budget so cheaper solutions are always better. :P

Thank you for the help. I will consider those.

Is there an internal option or a PCMCIA option? I have been searching google, newegg and tiger direct with no luck. Also, according to the reviews they seem to have up to 1 seccond of lag. Is this normal for all tuners? Is there no instant real time tuner? I don't need the actual tuner part of the card/box. I just need composit audio/video inputs.

Sorry if my terminology and explaination is off. Like I said in my first post, notebooks are a whole different creature and new to me.

What are these numbers under everyone's names?

I don't know how good the new TV tuners will be. I have a Area51m 5500 that is almost a year old. Got one of Pinnacle's USB TV tuner, and it was lagging very bad. Took forever to switch channels for Cable, and my XBOX feedback from the A/V ports had a 10 second delay. Don't know if it was the hardware, slow USB connection, or software issues. I would assume that your 7700 should be able to handle it now, but don't get your hopes up if it doesn't work. I do know it has an S-Video out cable.
