Well, now that ma, pa and sis have figured out how to work our T.V I can't get 10 min in.

So, now I have my charming Xbox colleting dust and a powerful HD TV pumping out analog crap to everyone except me.

The solution turn the computer into a 19” TV, Xbox gaming machine.

So what do I need? I am on a very limited budget around $100 maybe more.

But I want a crisp clear picture also it would be nice to record some TV programs too.

Stats
2.4 Intel 533 FSB
256 Rambus RAm
40 Gig...probably will be upgraded
CD...and CDRW
Nvidia 4200 TI 64 MB (underclocked i rarly play and games no need for all that "extra heat" an nosie
few PCi slots open around 2

what eles... Xbox is 20 ft away
computer folding 24/5 weekends it is turned off

Oh ya, I always leave something out..

Play the Xbox on the computer monitor. Is the main thing.

Recording T.V programs is a seconded really cool bonus thing that would be nice but not absolutely needed.

I would like to hook up the Xbox with component in or S-video but component is preferred.

put linux on the xbox, use realVNC to make everything on the xbox appear on your computer. OR just buy a damn s-video cable and plug it in and see what happens. OR buy a card/breakout box with component video and go that way.

Sighs... No Linux on the Xbox...I want to play games on it.

I already have an S-video cable.

I have a new plan figured out kind of...

Get a TV tuner card, plug it in the computer, then hook up the Xbox and have Halo 2/ Xbox live gaming action on the computer monitor.
