How much better is it to use a CRT? Is it pointless to have a top of the line computer and use a LCD monitor? Also how much do you have to spend on an LCD for it to be good enough to run the top games smoothly???????

i just bought an LCD thats 17 inches for under $230 and it doesnt have any ghosting while gaming. if you have 300+ to spend on a monitor make it an LCD. if you have less then 200 bucks then get a CRT.

i recommend getting an lcd no matter what now. the performance of lcd has greatly been improved and i want one myself when i save enough money. if you are gonna spend over 300bucks like the last post said, get an lcd. the lcds that i want cost around 500-600bucks, which are good for gaming and more.

if you are not a hardcore gamer, lcd is fine but limited by its "native resolution" a crt can handle a far wider variety of screen sizes, it will cost you the big bucks to play modern games at 1600x1200 on an lcd, as most run at 1024 or 1280 native

as usual it depends on what you do with your computer, and what games you expect to play or software you will use.

for gramatons lcd price i can get a viewsonic 19" and have change

if you have enough desk space, you can get a kickass 21 inch CRT for the price of a 17 inch LCD
but if u dont have desk space, LCD is the way to go
i have the Viewsonic G90FB

Good buy, great res (max = 1920 x 1440) 200 bucks i got it for.

I still think my Sony 17" SDM-HS74P/S is the best. I wish MPC would review it- the picture can't be beat. I've seen it as low as $350.

If you have a Best Buy, Circuit City or Comp USA near, go and check it out. Comp USA has the best screensaver playing on it - seeing that would get ya
