I've decided to make the move from immobile to mobile....but.....I am now in a bit of a quandry....is it possible to Ghost an image of the desktop drive and safely restore it to the notebooks drive? (Although I am pretty sure I can't because of the differences in the drives) And if not, what would be the best app to atleast transfer files from one to the other?

I would appreciate any help anyone can offer with this.

It is possible, but you will probably end up having to run a XP recover to install the correct controller/mb drivers etc. If you are using Symantec Ghost I dont think it cares if the drives are identical as long as the target drive can hold the specified image...
