Hey all,

I'm about to build my new computer, but I'm a little cautious of instaling the hardcano on the processor. Has anyone installed one of these on a Athlon 64 skt. 939 3000+, or know if I will have any problems because of it? Also, there is a small grey pad on the bottom of my heatsink that came with the processor. Is this considered a thermal pad, or do I have to buy thermal paste as well (the instructions were a little vauge)? Thanks guys,

Ink.

Don't bother to install the temp probes to the cpu!! I did that once and regretted doing it. Mind you it did work for awhile, the thin wires from the probes will eventually get chafed from the heatsink fan vibrations and short out the mobo, thus cause confusing diagnostic problems. The Hardcano is just a cool looking gadget that ain't reliable, mine is just showing one temp value, nothing more. The pad that you see on the processor is installed from the factory, and you should use it rather than remove it and replace it with an aftermarket thermal grease
