I have to upgrade my psu my one weak link in my system is my psu. I have an x-connect 400 watt & it is sooooo unstable. I have a budget that I have to stay under (you married folks should understand) or the wife will hire someone to beat me blue. I have to stay under $120 including shipping. I am running 409 watts at full load. So far i have found these deals & wanted your opinions.
1)Antec TruePower True550 - $99.99 including shipping.
2)Enermax EG485P-SFMA24 480W - $99.99 including shipping
3)Enermax EG475P-VE SFMA Noisetaker 470W -$82.99 including shipping
4)Thermaltake W0023 Silent PurePower 560W w/Active PFC - $102.95 including shipping (this one looks like it has the best overall stats)

thanks in advance for your input.

You should go with the antec 550w ot thermaltake 560w. I would personally go with the thermaltake because it is more quiet.

The Antec Truepower 550W is a solid choice. I've never used any of the other ones you listed though.

Go with the Antec TruePower 550w. It has loads of connectors (they even include two dedicated molexes for case fans!) plus it comes with two SATA power connectors. If you go to the Antec website and look up this particular PSU there, the drawing they have provided for it is a bit off. The complete list of connectors is below:

x2 SATA
x7 4-pin molexes
x2 Floppy
x2 Fan molexes (regular molex but with only 2 pins in it)
x1 20-pin mobo
x1 4-pin mobo
x1 6-pin mobo (for Intel boards)
x1 PSU fan connector

And if I am not mistaken, and I could be wrong, but all connector pins in the PSU are gold plated to boot. At least mine were when I received it.

anyone see that 300w rosewill psu for 9.99? Any experiences on it? i'm actually interested - for a cheap low powered pc build, it doesn't look bad. I've had decent luck with their products. It's like krasdale food. Cheap, but nob bad :)

scratch that, $13 now.(egg)

I'll take the different route and recommend Enermax.

Very stable, and I like the Smart Fan feature (fan runs a couple minutes after PC shuts down to remove the hot air from the inside).

I do have to say that Antec produce a good product, likewise.
