Can anyone tell me want the diffence is between 3500+newcastle and winchester.

Dize size of their respective cores. Newcastle = 130nm (.13micron), Winchester = 90nm (.09micron).

Winchesters consume less power, run cooler, and as a result overclock slightly better. From a performance standpoint, they're identical.

Also, depending on your motherboard you may need to update your BIOS before attempting to install a Winchester. This information should be easily found on your manufacture's website.
