i have been looking at peoples idle and load temps in the 3500+ OC thread and found after applying Arctic silver 5 i get an idle temp of between 10C and 25C and a load temp of between 38C and 45C. could my MSI core cell app be reporting wrong?

I use stock cooling but do have a xaserV case with awsome air flow.

these temps are with the FSB at 225 Mhz for a total speed of 2.5 Ghz.

What voltage are those temps at? Is your chip a Newcastle or a Winchester? I have a 3500 Newcastle at 260X10@ 1.6V that runs at 37 idle and 49 load.

oh, and I'm running a thermalright XP-90

that s/b a very nice combo, the XP-90 is a phat heatsink. You will have some low temps with this combo. Which mobo do you have?

The program could be reporting incorrect temperatures. Or it could be because you have the Cool-n'-Quiet feature on which explains the awkwardly low temperatures, but normal load temps.

i disabled cool and quiet because it runs cooler with out it. all it does is decreases fan speed when your CPU is cool
