This is the barebones I'm thinking of purchasing:

80232 Pre-Tested and Setup AMD Athlon 64/FX (939) Barebones System 2 $18.00 $36.00
Case: 100621 - NO PS - Lian-Li PC-61 Aluminum (Black) $115.00 $230.00
Power Supply: 100963 - PS 500W - Ultra X-Connect ULT31558 ATX 12 $92.00 $184.00
Motherboard: 110228 - MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum Audio/GB-LAN/USB/IE $169.00 $338.00
Processor: 12A463 - AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 512K (939) $399.00 $798.00
Heatsink Fan: 130150 - Thermaltake A1772 AMD Recommended for Opt $49.00 $98.00
Thermal Grease: 800018 - Shin-Etsu G675 Thermal Grease (Cools CPU $14.00 $28.00
Warranty: 800033 - Motherboard-CPU Warranty - 1 Year w/30 Da $15.00 $30.00

What I have right now that would go into the system to complete it is:
pny 256 6800gt verto agp video card
1 gig corsiar xms pc3200
2 80 gig maxtor ata133 hds
tdk dvd/cdrw burner
sb live! sound card
netgear nic

Will everything gel nicely together?
Am I missing any potential problems?

Also on the ultra x connect does it come with the cables you need to connect everything or do you buy those seperatly?
Thanks!

most of your specs are pretty good. im kind skeptical about the power supply too. go to www.newegg.com and check out the antec, enermax, and ocz power supplies.

thanks i will.
I was also thinking of switching to the lian li ultra quit Aluminum case witht the sound dampening insulation. Are there any issues with overheating with that case? Does sound dampening also decrease air flow?

I'd research a bit into how much heat buildup the sound insulation causes, if my memory serves me correct there is a maximum pc article about the fact in one of the previous issues...
