I've been wanting to upgrade but decided to wait for pci e. Keep in mind that I'm not loaded with cash. I just wanted something that's not obsolete too soon.

MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum
AMD 3200+
eVGA 6800GT (pci-e)
1 GB Corsair
Enermax Coolergiant 480W
CoolerMaster Wave
74GB Raptor

I hate the feeling that I've screwed up just as I click "submit order" but I think I'm OK. I plan on adding a 300GB Maxtor for storage and a sound card after I pay my taxes
and also bumping up the CPU at some point. I think it's a solid start without wasted funds. Opinions?

Yeah that is a very nice system, the PSU is reliable and do you really need a 300GB HD? That system will play all of todays games and will last you a good couple of years before you even think about needing to think about upgrading.

A job well done i would say and a pat on the back to yourself

Yea, I think I'll need the storage. My UT2004 folder alone is 9.9G with the mods! I guess I just needed some reassurance after plopping down the dough. I would have gone for a better CPU but I know that I'll change it out in a year or so, so I didn't want to get too wacky.

Yeah, 74gb is not enough for most people, I'd say 160gb to be safe, so 300 seems decent. Everything else looks good!

if you download alot and do alot of video editing then you need the 300gigs. depending on what you do, some people need the 300gigs and others dont.

if you have more money though definitely get another hdd for backup. put your o/s on the 74gigs raptor and put all your data on the other hdd for best peformance.

nice system, awesome gaming rig. im still using an athlon xp system and im still happy with it.
