I'm planning to build PC. I would like a PCI-Express 16x video card. Looking at the motherboards out there, those with PCI-E 16x slots also have 2 or 3 half-sized PCI-Express 1x or 4x slots. I have never seen anything produced that uses these slots. Can anyone give me a clue here? :?:

Those slots aren't for graphics.

Everything that currently uses PCI.

The first ones you are going to see are going to be RAID, GBE, TV tuners, and other cards that require high bandwidth.

I am not aware of any cards entering the consumer level just yet.

Ah...a fellow Descent Fan!

I haven't seen anything shipping for the small PCI-express slots either, thus, my question.

There will be stuff out for the small PCI-E slots most like sound cards and what-not.

Yeah. I Googled before posting here in the first place. I couldn't find anything actually shipping either. Thanks for the feedback.
