Hi folks,

I've been wanting a laptop ever since I've been a long haul truck driver but I can't find a solution to the lack of HD space. I don't just want to carry mapping software, I'd like to carry my music and movies. I have almost 300 GB just in music (All of which are copies of my own CD's thank you very much, and nooo, I can't tell you where I live).

The question is, how do I best set up expandable HD space for the laptop. The only thing I know for sure right now is it will have to be an external solution. I'm going for 1 terabyte.

1 terabyte?!

nice...

ask and you shall receive...

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/LaCie-1TB-External-Hard-Drive/sem/rpsm/oid/115247/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

of course that is VERY pricey...if money's no object for you, then there's your terabyte...but if you need something a bit cheaper...

then...just get 2 of these ...

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Western-Digital-External-Hard-Drive-WDXUB2500JBNN-/sem/rpsm/oid/108449/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do

now...wonder what kind of laptop you'll be getting?

oh, and welcome to the forums!

External Firewire 800 Drives.

They're cheaper if you buy the enclosures and HDDs seperate and build them yourself :D
