I built my rig using orange SATA cables. Noticed at Best Buy blue SATA II cables. Is there really a cable size difference between the colors for SATA I and II? Where on my system can I check if I am running SATA I or II?

It doesn't matter it's just a color decided on by whoever made the cables.

If the motherboard controller supports SATA 2 and your drives are SATA 2 then you are running SATA 2. If the motherboard supports only SATA 1 and the drives are SATA 1 or SATA 2 then you are running SATA 1.

Cables as stated are just a matter of preference as there are no SATA 1 or SATA 2 cables.

I looked up my mobo and it's running SATA II so I was just worried when I saw cables with the SATA II label on them. Obviously worried my cables were bottlenecking my system. Thanks.
