True, true on the P4's. I've only got the one X2 3800+.

I'm starting to plan my next build, but frankly, unless QMDs or something similar return, no matter what I might build, it won't be enough to stay ahead of the competition. The way I figure it (loosely), about 45 days like yesterday and I'll be pulling up the rear in terms of who gets to one million last.

I'm just doing every little thing I can to squeeze every last WU out of my boxes - lots of swapping WUs around (based on FAHMon benchmarks), and I'm about to do some additional tweaking on the Pentium D 830 and that AMD box I mentioned above.

It's hard to talk smack when you can't deliver the lumber.

I honestly have not clue how I am able to maintain a reasonable ppd. The only nthing I can think of is that most of my machines were always doing non-QMD's already. I only had like 7-8 QMD machines so I only lost about ~1000ppd, not bad actually. I have begun collecting parts for my next build, this one is all AMD.

That 'lil pooflinger should do more put-up than shut-up. Hopefully it will be enough to get past AL and at the same time hold off the Dino's and Mike.

Well now my laptop is down. I have known the cd drive was failing for the past few months but now the damn thing will not even boot. The HDD is crap, now I have to buy both a HDD and a cd drive, can't really reinstall a laptop without one, ehh?

Frickin' Dell! Some of their machines are rock solid but I have also replaced like 7-8 HDD and a few mobo's with them this past year, now my personal system takes a dump. arrrgghh!! M1, we are down a p4 3.0ghz for at least a week, take advantage while you can.

It's a bit like a car race... your tranny just konked out, but I can't take advantage since mine is stuck in first gear!

I've begun a gentle lobbying campaign at work to get my THREE YEAR OLD CRAPAQ Laptop - PIII - replaced. They've decided to go with HP, and the procs are Pentium M... that ought to be a nice little bump over my 50 PPD PIII. But since the company is stretching everything where possible, it might take 6 months.

Too late to help in the quest.
