WOOT!! Sounds very good indeed. Satch got you a copy of the rules, so if there's anything in there you don't understand or would like discussed, this is the place to do it!

Hello from the Labor room.

When the time comes (May 5th or 4th to make sure you're in time), you can switch machines over to the appropriate, but yet unannounced username.

Just goes to show my dedication to Folding@Home and the team. haha Posting from the hospital while my wife sleeps.

It's very nice to see all the new people joining our little contest....

Welcome to the MPC forums... this has turned out to be a huge annual event now and with everyone having as much fun as possible we may drive the scientific work for Stanford that much further and faster....

it's also nice to get to know all the humans around the world before Monkey World Domination occurs....

Next year I think we should get some major coverage involved... Try to make CNN... Aston Cusher did with twitter... ROFL his 10,000 Mosquito nets cost him less that we pay in electricity each year, unless he bought the Gucci/Prada models.

Can we work on a slightly better Jaded Monkey Pic the one I saw was well... A little too Google Image searched... Maybe a Design submission.

funny you brought up CNN.... we were discussing that not long ago about submitting some info to them and seeing were it goes from there.... i believe it was just after last year's competition that we were chatting about it.... first I'd like to see how well it goes this year with so many teams... if it goes as smoothly as it seems and considering it's now gone worldwide the next step would be to gain some media exposure.....

one thing i'd like from all the team Captains this year is if they can get an approximate guess of the number of people on their respective teams they believe contributed... it should be possible even if Stanford can get the numbers from how many different ip's sent in wu's to the chosen usernames for each team.... with that info i can create some sort of write up to present.... it'd be nice to see the numbers in the thousands just for this contest as it gives it some more credibility.... it would also be a wonderful way for Vijay to get the word out to many that haven't even heard of folding at home.....

stay tuned... after this year's competition we'll have a debriefing and see where we go from there....

Problem is, how many people are just going to put the username in when EVGA e-mails out a mass e-mail ;)

We'll be folding under CPChimps as far as I can tell.
It's been a bit hectic as they've moved our forums at very short notice (don't get me started on this)

Thanks Sas! I'll get all of this info to Seadave so he can start coding that custom stats and graph page for us again.

Checking in from overclockers.com.

We're still discussing under what name we're going to fold under, so there may be a change.

I've also got a request for a rules changes from one of our members.

Quote:
1) We use EOC stats 1:00 pm update (PST, which is their 3 pm update since EOC is in the Midwest), and *NOT* use Stanford stats, as our points reference. Starting and stopping.

Last year, we lost thousands of points because Stanford stats was unavailable just when we needed them, to help set our starting points for the race. This year, Stanford's stats are no more available than they were last year.

Completely unacceptable.

2) Jason at EOC did stats last year for the CC, but they were out of synch with the real race figures, because we didn't start when EOC synch's up with new data from Stanford.

We start the race an hour and 10 minutes later - and we get a huge benefit.

SeaDave has always done fine graphs for us, but IMO you can't beat Jason's graphs on EOC. Also, the CC site will have HUGE traffic this year, with so many big teams involved in the race. We know that EOC stats will be able to handle the network load, no problem.
