Can't get enough of Fry's lately and here's another online deal on probably one of the best PC cases out there, the Antec Sonata II at $90 plus free shipping. It even has a $50 rebate and a 450W p/s  through 1/25.

See it here

For those that may not know, Fry's ads come out every Friday and are good until the following Tuesday. The online prices and components aren't usually what is offerred in their stores. To see their online specials, click this link Friday to get the latest or anytime to see what's available.

I purchased this case not too long ago and I'll testify..... it is the nicest looking case I've ever seen...... It has a piano mirror black finish and well set up case....... I paid $124 Canadian funds for it and would've paid more...... especially with a 450 watt psu.......

 That's not a bad deal.

My only complaint with it is the single stick or RAM.

X2s (and most modern PCs at that) crave dual-channel.

Other than that, add in a video card as well as HDD with 64 bit Linux and you'll have a killer SMP box. ;)

Right you are, would do that too. Looks like this mobo supports dual channel and even has four DDR mem slots! Would probably bump it to up to at least 1GB mem to give it a fighting chance....

This seems like a good deal to me. You can get 2GB of some DDR2 667 Corsair Valueselect RAM from outpost.com for $130.

DDR2 2GB PC5300 DUAL CORSAIR Might help someone looking for some cheap RAM.

For those people that want to jump onto the dual core bandwagon, but can't afford to get a new Core 2 Duo and a new motherboard. Look at the following:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813130067
MSI K9N6PGM-F Socket AM2 motherboard $73.13

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103735
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ $109

So for $182.13, you would be able to get a dual core and a new motherboard (provided you have DDR2 memory) for the same price as an E6300.

Also for the people sticking with Socket 939, Newegg has once again got more 3800 X2's.

Hopefully this post will help someone get onto the dual core road.
