Location: Sittin' downtown at the railway station, one toke over the line.
When my very wireless, very lasery mouse starts to feel sluggish I automatically and invariably pick it up and shake it.

Should have defined what atavistic was. I thought it was a new boutique PC builder.

Is this thread about PC voodoo and keeping the ghost in the machine happy...?

EDIT: Forgot the defination sine I doubt I'm going to be the only one.

atavistic
at·a·vis·tic [adjective]
relating to or characterized by reversion to something ancient or ancestral

Back in high school, the A+ and Cisco teacher was called over because one of the computers wasn't working right. After trying a few things (most that we had already tried) she looks at us and said "YOU GUYS DON'T DO THIS" and proceeds to pull a "Fonz" on it. One solid whack to the box, and it worked!

Hell yeah. In fact, it should have been included in the BSOD article.
Step 1: Swear
Step 2: Shut down PC.
Step 3: Swear
Step 4: Unplug machine.
Step 5:Swear
Step 6:Grab screwdriver-wait, where's my screwdriver? I just had the damn thing!
