Noticed on one of my laptops running Linux Mint 16 64-bit Cinammon that is says Update_Core

Log file:

Code:
05:35:28:ERROR:WU00:FS00:Exception: boost::filesystem::status: Permission denied: "cores/www.stanford.edu/~pande/Linux/AMD64/Core_a4.fah/FahCore_a4"

This keeps repeating itself in the log file. I've tried stopping then restarting the client. Even tried rebooting the system. Both tries were unsuccessful. Went to following path: /var/lib/fahclient/cores/www.standford.edu/~pande/Linux/AMD64/Core_a4.fah the core a4 shows there and to my knowledge just finished a WU while using that very core.

Any ideas on what I can try?

Okay, I'm checking it out. Slim pickings. It looks like there is a permission problem maybe, or another process trying to access the Core. Have you tried removing and re-adding the slot? In Windows I would say to also go to the Core_4 folder and change the permissions, probably make myself the owner. I'm assuming there is an analogous process in Linux, to take control of a folder. Best I've got I think.

Thank you crw for making me think a little.

Went and changed permissions on the /FahCore_a4.fah folder, then changed permissions on FahCore_a4 to an executable and viola, we're back up and folding again.

Sometimes it's better to have 2 sets of eyes instead of myself getting a headache from banging my head against the wall.

Yeah, when I get weirdo problems like that I usually just sit there in a WTF daze. That's awesome you were able to get it back working.

Toby, F@H downloaded a WU to a folder but the folder did not have enough permissions? Any idea why that happens (according to your research)?
