Anybody use TeamViewer to check on machines? I think I read that it works ok. I know you can't Remote Desktop in to a machine running a GPU client because it resets the display adapter (or something like that) and that effs up the WU. I use RDP to peek in on my dual-proc because no GPU. I'm guessing TeamViewer will be okay; I ran a little test with Speccy. Using RDP to access the server and running Speccy shows the display as the machine I'm sitting in front of, using TeamViewer it reports the display attached to the server. I wanted to ask and find out for sure though, before I trash a WU unnecessarily.

I have read that Windows Remote Desktop causes issues, as crwlngkngsnk mentioned, but does anyone know if Chrome Remote Desktop has the same issues?

Also, devastator_2000, when you had said that you use FreeVNC, is that the specific name of the software, or a general description for a Free VNC program? When I googled "FreeVNC" I did not get any specific matches to that software title, but saw dozens of different VNC programs that are free. Same result when I searched in Filehippo. Can you please post a link to the download site of the FreeVNC program that you use?

Thanks!

FreeVNC must have gone away, or I dreamed the name up in my mind. I use RealVNC. Its a paid program, but I think they have a free version as well. A good free version is called TightVNC. Check out the link below.

When I was folding, I originally used TeamViewer until that our company installed new security software that black-listed it. One of the IT guys, who I got into folding for a while, told me they used LogMeIn on the company computers in order to provide remote support, so it was white-listed. I wound up switching to that. Neither TeamViewer or LogMeIn ever interfered with the folding.

Logmein went to a pay model. I broke down and tried Team Viewer and it was fine like you say. The only thing I really don't like about it is having to authenticate every time. I might still look into that VNC.
