These are my proposals for a multi-team (meta-team) race. Please read it, there are substantial changes to the race in 2014, proposed. New name, new format, new point system, etc.

http://www.overclockers.com/forums/show ... ost7573446

Your comments are welcome, either here, or at the thread linked to above. I did not include 11108 in the team list, yet - but I would be delighted to do so. If you have any preferences which meta team (A,B,or C), you would like to join, let me know that, as well.

(The names A, B, and C, and the team arrangements shown in the image above, are hypothetical. Real team names would be decided by the teams in them. Which is a weird way of saying you could race with any other team you want to.

Looks good. I'm in. Is anyone else going to team up around here?

What's being proposed is:
It's basically a new race searching for a new name and it's own identity. I realize that some people may not like that, but I'm for leaving the past in the past and the CC has been good and fine, but things have moved to a place where the CC is no longer a fun and fair competition grounds. There are basically irreconcilable problems with the current race; too many grudges, bad blood, not helpful yearning for nostalgia, etc. A new beginning is a welcome thing.

It would be great if we could get a team together and/or have our team included.

I'm good with making a new cooperative race. I had the privilege of being part of the first CC. I will participate to the fullest of my capabilities. I just hope we have enough membership participation to be competitive.

LMAO... I love how this has blown up so much and gotten almost out of control...

Being one of the founding monkeys of the original Chimp Challenge I'd like to express a few thoughts...

The Monkey Federation always creates things that quickly morph and get out of hand... this is all no big surprise to us

It started as a competition between two rivals and has blown up into a great force for folding to create interest and hopefully help Stanford generate results to find a cure...

Is it a fair competition now??? of course not... Is Team Canada playing the Japanese in Ice Hockey in the olympics fair??? of course not... who cares... no one gets hurt and a lot of good things happen... that's all that matters...

People will fold if they want or not for their own reasons... making it fun though is the most important part so they can enjoy themselves and want to participate more and strive to get better...

If a team wants to generate more by compensating their members through prizes etc. why not? it creates more folding and hell even the olympics have allowed professionals to compete... why shouldn't the best in the world fight it out...

There are some bright people involved in running this competition now and I'm sure they can come up with a fun way to make it interesting for everyone... If not then it will crap out and people will become disappointed and maybe not fold anymore... I really hope this doesn't happen... but we'll never know until we try...

None of the Monkey Fed is willing or able to spearhead the initiative so we leave it up to you humans to sort it out... try not to screw up too much.... :P

I don't get it. They want 3 teams: EVGA vs [H] vs everyone else?

I never even heard of the CC before so I'm clueless on how it was run. I thought it something like each team folds for X amount of time and winner is one with most points in that time period.

It may get a lot simpler, after all. My health has taken a dive, so I will not be able to be a CC Captain this year. the_cultie is another captain of course, but unavailable now. An election will be held for my replacement.

If you change your mind and want to race, just contact Axipher for approval for your Captain to sign into the captain's forum.
I don't see any problem getting the OK for MaxPC's team to race, again.

Even after all this time, it still seems odd to come here, and not see Gordon's latest postings.

Hey Adak,

Sorry to hear about the health - I can sympathize, although I'm doing right well for the moment.

Agree re Gordon - it's not felt right since he passed.

Please post back as things develop on the health front.
