A huge help is to fold beta units with a quick return bonus (QRB) (from all the buzz on the other forums). I've done the changes, and gotten great results! Here is the link on what to do to add the appropriate flags:

Info on folding forum:

If you end up getting a unit, the points seem to be 3-4x 'normal'.

I've gone up from 45-50k PPD to 81k PPD during the past 24 hours.

Beware, putting the flag in can give you 7623's

By my results, a risk worth taking! Hopefully these 8057s will come out of beta sooner rather than later

I like nearly 40k points for the day on the 9am update

I've gotten nearly a dozen of them (& 33 total 7623, 7624, 7625 WU's) without the flag so we're getting them regardless.

These are also very overclocking friendly... at least for me, currently have my core & shaders at 825 /1650 on a first generation 460 which had reference clocks of 675 / 1350 & the 256bit memory bus. Temps (with GPU fans manually set to run at 100%) are running 15C cooler than on 762x series WU's, and that's with the 762x's running at just 750 / 1500 YMMV. 825/1650 drops my frame times from 3:22 to 3:05 & only raises temp 3C from factory clocks of 715/1430.

I thought they were pulled back into beta testing.

??? I was folding a 7623 Tuesday morning before I added the beta flag, maybe they did it after I downloaded that WU ???

I get an occasional 7623, but am mostly folding 8057s, with the beta flag. The GPU I run is, a EVGA GTX 670 at stock settings. It lives!

I'm using the -betateam flag on a newly rebuilt system with an EVGA 560Ti card and the 6.41r2 client. I know I've gotten a few of the glorious 8057 work units on that box.

On an older build with an MSI 550Ti I get no love from the Stanford servers - just P8054 type work.

Does anyone know if you Must have the latest Nvidia drivers to access the beta work?

I, in no way have the most recent drivers. I haven't updated them in quite a while (maybe I should), but I have now gotten the 'good' beta units on all three of my GPUs, so in short, it's not a must.

I have mainly seen the 8057s on my 460 and just recently gotten a few on either of my two 450s. It seems that the 'better' cards seem to get more of the 8057s.

I don't know whether it matters but, I update regularly and have GPU driver version 9.18.13.697 dated: 10/02/2012 installed for my main producer with GTX 670 on Windows 7 64-bit SP1. It's doing well and so I'll refrain from updating to the WHQL drivers now available. Gero1369's performance on older drivers, however, seem to indicate the resources needed are phyical, eg 4** series Fermi GPU cards and above. Also, of course, the beta flag is needed before these wus are released for general folding. Sorry for limited info.

Got 304.xx drivers on both my 460 & 430 & both are getting 8057's. 430's getting about 8,770 points off of them, or nearly 14,000ppd which sure beats the heck out of 2,500 - 3,500 ppd!!!

loving the beta units! Currently, I've got one on all three of my cards! All of my current PPD ratings together right now are at 173k PPD from 3 GPUs and 2 CPUs.

See for yourself:

That's great, Gero! It's like walking out of a dry desert, to be folding something with meat on it for a change. :P Not many 8057s are coming my way right now, but maybe they'll pick back up. I hope everyone has changed over to beta, that has a Fermi card.

If you use core version 2.22 (for fermi cards only. no kepler), you can get much better PPD with these. I am getting 100k ppd reported from each of my 460's

We talked about version 2.22, but figured Stanford would eventually trump us on that. Very nice points though.

We can add 7626 to the 'naughty' list as well. My little GT 430 is chewing on one of those this morning, dropped its PPD about in half. Hoping to make it up on average when it lucks out and gets a good one instead. What I'm really looking forward to is when they re benchmark so we get the QRB for other GPU projects regardless of beta status!

Edit: Looked back at my history and I'm pretty sure I already got a couple of the good ones while I was out of town, woo! Thanks again Gero1369!
