The P3 will help. The P1 is probably useless. I doubt it can finish a wu inside of a month. BTW, I've added a couple more systems myself.... don't go straying off to far ahead of me now. ;)

I was guessing you did something, as you've been harder to edge closer to lately. If we end up running neck and neck, I'll race you to 299.

Actually, the two additions haven't turned anything in yet. What happened is that last friday, after I left work, both of the computers at my office shutoff so I didn't get any productivity out of them over the weekend. Then on Tuesday, the stupid windows update shut one of them down again. Last week was a pretty bad weak fah-wise.

The 1.3ghz celeron that I added is about hald done with what looks like a 200+ pointer. This will be the first additional help. I also setup my 450mhz k6-2 today - this won't help much with fah (obviously!), but it will help take some of the burden with dvd and video encoding off of my main athlon xp system.

Is it Gadget's turn to get passed??

It's going to be close - real close. I had a bad weak last week which allowed the gap to be closed pretty quickly (see post above). Depending on how many boxes one4u2c lost - we might be pretty close now. My hunch is that we'll have several passes and repasses until someone is able to add a bit more artillery.

LOL, I just missed this somehow. I had seen you guys cruise by already while checking on the progress.

I keep installing F@H on machines, but they all soon discover it and put their own names in. Bastards. As I, the humble lone folder here, replied to Larry when he was running by my Nokia array, I have nothing in my armory at the moment and probably won't until things settle down around here.

you guys need a headstart anyway...comebacks are always better anyway, right?

Oh, side note/question:

Any of you try folding on a slow machine? I have a P3 500 that may squirt out maybe 40points a day. I had a laptop from workfolding that was a P3 600 that pretty much surprised me.

I keep it off at the moment, but I don't think I'm missing to much action without it.

Just wondering who has some dogs in their sled teams.

I'm currently wondering the same thing. My old office computer was a p2 450mhz and it took FOREVER to finish a wu, but I'm not sure if that was because of stupid f'ing windows updates causing it to reboot all the time either. Sometime on Monday, I plan to change all of the office machines so that fah starts after reboots. IMO, ((Windows == PITA) == time.FOREVER) evaluates to true.

I just brought online a k6-2 450 mhz... mainly to take some of the dvd and video encoding jobs off of my main home system. We'll see how that works out. That'll be the biggest dog in my sled - by a LONG ways.

my slowest is a p3-900 sony portable, running 24/7, it has managed around 275 WUs in the last year, these big pointers kill it tho, 134 hours on a 239 point tinker.

Well, looks like the P4's kicked in last night and put a little bit of room between us. A 500 point lead helps, but I doubt I'll keep it for long though!

OTOH, I am looking forward to a 1,000+ point day today.... :)

POA

Public Overthrow Averted

800+ points has me comfortable for now. I'll be bringing another 2600+ processor online sometime this week, which should push me over the top.

Or so it would seem  Since Aug 9th, their server has not been playing nice with my consoled WUs. I *should* get a nice jump once those get turned in. We'll see what that 2600+ does though.

I kick myself for taking my mother's rig offline before I left - it was the heat folding generates that ultimately made me decide to uninstall on her rig.

Yeah, you've suddenly gotten hard to catch. I also got jipped on a couple of WUs (back when I was just under 10K for days), but they wouldn't have put me past you anyway, just closer. And I shall have no excuses, as I won't allow anyway when I make my pass

I HAVE to add another rig, the gap between us is staying consistent at 800-1000pts. This thread must live up to the hype. :D

I see someone checked the stats recently, muhahaha! You can run but you can't hide! Image

BTW, anyone who uses the term "going on the lam" is A-OK in my book. But I still have to do this, it's just business.
