Selfless devotion, I was going to say to this team but his reach was beyond this team, reaching out through the FAH community.

Just a very nice person who even though seemed to have his hands full always made time to answer a PM and always with encouraging words. I know many of you got PM's from him and i'm sure like me you read them over once in awhile, its hard to believe he never seemed to complain much about his own life problems even though they were bigger than what most of us were dealing with.

A piece of one of his pm"s after I told him congrats on Folder Of The Month. " FOTH and top20 are not important to me, I like to see others enjoying themselves and folding more "

Got a quick message from Vijay last night...

Quote:
Hi,

How about your team put a statement together (whatever you think is appropriate) and also some pics would be great.

Thanks,

Vijay

Sent from my Phone. Sorry for the brevity or unusual tone.

Is there someone here who has a little time and could put together one nice page with a few pictures?

And please include a link to our topic sticky about Gordon.

More good news from the Big Man himself:

The servers are now online (you can see them listed on server stat http://fah-web.stanford.edu/pybeta/serverstat.html). We haven't assigned anything to them just yet, but that should be coming in a week or two, as we roll out new projects.

I'd love to have our blog post about this before then if that works on your side.

Thanks,

Vijay

I have had a gracious offer from jack5995 to put together a page from us - to go on the blog post. If no one objects, he should move forward on this.

Can he post it here before it gets sent?

Yes - we'll put it up for a limited review before it gets sent to Dr. Pande.

Here for the team to see and hopefully okay, is an example of what I have "Gordon Server Commemoration" Final cut. come up with as a possible last tribute to Gordon and Rose. Look it over and don't hesitate to make suggestion(s), point out an error, or say "it should be canned" and restarted anew. After all, this document represents the team as a whole. One thing I myself wanted, aesthetically speaking, was a word wrap around pictures to conserve space. VJ asked for a page with pictures. Those servers are going on-line, with or without our input. I, as I'm sure you guys would agree prefer the former. We should share as best we are able.

Gary, Jack, and Co.,

Looking at your "Gordon Server Commemoration Final cut", I think you've done a fine job.

Quite the fitting tribute.

Nice Work, and THANKS.

Thanks. However, wait a little please, as Full_Taoer is taking this document and cleaning it up with a word wrap on pictures. When he posts, it will be nicer. Or he may decide to go with new document. Should be soon.

OK folks......

Our friend Full_Taoer has done a very nice job of revising the current project down to 'blog' size for Dr Pande. He put his post up Here

I have asked him for one additional change.... I was hoping we could include a link to the topic "We Lost One of F@H's Greatest Champions - Gordon Smitheman". So that people could read all the wonderful things said about Gordon. Comments we received from around the globe.

I know Dr Pande would like a finished version in the next few days so they can include it in the blog post about the new servers..... and put them to work!

Here. Here. I, for one, like it very much. Concise, precise, word wrapped, with over-all good form and clarity. Puncuation is great, as is sentense structure. <whistle> <whistle-claps hands> That's a wrap! Thanks, FT!

Sorry. I didn't catch this. I genuinely didn't know these existed, but probably should have...

Thanks to Jack for the initial content, Gary and and Jack for the kind words, and thanks to G.M. Waters for remembering the location of the photo of Rose. I knew I had seen her picture before and went to Gordon's Spotlight thinking I would find it there. As requested, the topic link and Rose's photo have been included . I also worked on the layout. It made some room to provide more about what made Gordon so special.

2nd that, g.m.

I can say from experience "These articles
can be difficult to put together & share if
one doesn't write every day". Absolutely
great job, Full_Taoer! Two thumbs up!

Just emailed the Full_Taoer's final version to Dr Pande.

Hopefully we will see it up on the Blog in the near future.... and see the Gordon and Rose servers up at full production soon too. 8)

Thanks again to jack5995 and Full_Taoer for their time and kind words. And to g.m.waters for reminding us about the additional available photos of Rose and Gordon.
