If you look at EVGA's website, they are going to make several models of the 680, some not even released yet, with more memory and what cautions me, more power sucking using up to 2 8-pins PCI-E instead of just 2 6-pins. Some of the intermediate models will use a 8-pin and a 6-pin. One of the great things about the reference card is that it pulls less than 300W at full tilt using only 2 6-pins. We will have to carefully follow benchmarks to see PPD/W since they extra power draw may not be worth the PPD output. But right now as it stands, 1500 shaders for 300W is a very good bargain.

Indeed. Trying to convince my friend to start folding when he gets his three 680's. Couldn't justify the 4th, although he was on the fence about it for about 10 mins and then the pre-orders went out of stock. hehe
