Anyone else getting the p8032 WU? They are being folded with my GTX460. Each WU is worth 3843 points and bumped my 460's ppd from around 11k to 14.5k.

I was just going to post a thread on that exact subject. I like them too:)
I'm getting the 8031 flavor though. My overall PPD is up around 10k.

Im chewing on a 8033 and its getting about 4500ppd more on my 470s. Thats ~19600ppd instead of about 15000ppd. A pretty sweet boost considering over my three 470s thats like having a fourth one working for free.

OK, made me look. Life has been busy lately and I haven't paid much attention to what the clients are chewing on.

Here's what I have:
My 570 has an 8033 (17,64,2) with TPF of 2:44 for a PPD of 20223.
Oddly, my 460 has an 8031 (19,297,1) with a TPF of 25:06 for a PPD of only 2203.

I may try a restart to see if that changes anything.

My first thought there is that your driver may have crashed and recovered.

These new WU's are tough. My GPU's are working so hard it is slowing down the whole computer. I had to stop GPU folding while using my PC.

True that. I was noticing some good lag as well.

Its funny now that you mention lag.

On my CD2 with the 570 and 8800, it has no problem running advance WU's for the gpus. Gives me no lag in normal operations and a full 100% load on both; not running smp folding. On my i7 930 with two 570's, the advance WU's would lag the shit out of the PC in normal operations such as web browsing and the GPU load would oscillate rapidly between 30% and 100% every 2 seconds; even with or without smp folding. So I had to set my main rig to normal WU.

These new 803x WU don't give me any issues, but I'm assuming its being classified as both a normal and adv WU since I'm getting them on both systems.

A re-start did make some difference.

The 460 went from TPF of 26:06 to 17:11.

Better, but still not good. Still only gives a PPD of 3220.

I see where a couple of days ago, new WHQL-certified drivers are available foe GeForce cards. My drivers are a bit long in the tooth. Time to upgrade and see if there is any improvement from that.

I guess that would be the next thing to try since those tpfs are still way to high.

Update you drivers. I am getting a TPF of 3:50, so you should be doing way better than 17.

Drivers will be updated this weekend.

Meantime, I think I identified the problem. I was doing some work with folding in the background when I heard one of the GPU fans kick in. Wait, what? They're not supposed to kick in. They're supposed to already be at max. Afterburner confirmed the 460 fan was set at 30% and the GPU was throttling back due to temps at 90c.

Not sure how that got changed.

magnumsrule: I remember you having problems with GPU fan speeds re-setting on you some time last year. Did you ever find the culprit?

Ah I should have said driver crashing from overheating. I'm trying to remember what I ended up doing... thing is I haven't used gpu fans for close to a year since I went to water cooling... Try setting everything manual to eliminate automatic control. Try using precision instead of ab. A driver update may be the simple fix. I think my gpu would throttle the fan up and down in a dance.

I just got a killawatt meter yesterday, I'm pulling 892 watts from the wall with three 570's using an 850w psu... hehe, I have new found respect for OCZ since this thing has been stable working 24/7 for the last few months.

you may wish to throw another PSU in there or get a beefier one.

-or maybe-

I have one that I'm not using, but I'm holding onto it for possible future use.

naw, its been known to be able to hand up to 940w at 80+ efficiency. It's been rock solid stable. If anything I'd upgrade to the 1200w just so I can have some overclocking abilities then add liquid cooling.
