I used to use a amd tl56 to fold and a e6700 and a q6600 when i did smp folding, but when they started using gpu folding i quit doing smp folding, the tl56 was only just barely able to finish a work unit in the time alloted.

I started a little less than 2 years ago on my laptop with an AMD dual core. It folded, but had to run 24/7 to complete SMP units within the bonus time. I often came home to it seized up and needing a re-start. I still fire it up for the Chimp Challenge, but nothing else currently.

If you don't mind expending the resources, I say fold on.
