Hey guys,
So im trying to set up the v7 client to fold with as some of you may remember that the v7 tracker was and is giving me that parsing error. So the initial install was fairly easy however once I got my three gpu clients folding they dont seem to want to go to 99% usage. They sit around 20-30% and slow the whole systems responsiveness down to a crawl. Any ideas of what to do? :|

Did you add all 3 GPU clients at the same time? You might try 1 at a time and see how they respond with each addition. That might help you narrow down the problem search.

Still using Process Lasso, I assume?

Well I'm not using it yet as I'm only trying to fold on the gpu's I'll try that out though. I was just using the default config that v7 came up with and it added all three you slots off the start. So you figure I should cut back to 1 then eh?

I think it's worth trying to see what happens as the resource demand goes up.

I know the v7 and my system handle folding on a 460 and a 570 together quite well. I've never tried a 3rd GPU, though. It's only when I add the CPU running BigAdv that I have slowdown issues.

That is addressed on my setup by running the CPU in v6 with the -smp 7 flag. The v7 client only allows an even number of CPU threads to be used, i.e. 2, 4, 6, or 8. I know there have been differing opinions on the need for freeing up a thread for the CPU client, but that's what works best in my system after doing some trial and error setups. If we all ran the same systems with the same hardware and software, well, then we would all have Macs now, wouldn't we? :D *snarkle* JK

Well I have two gpus running now. Ill try a third here when I get one unit completed. I would sure like to run my systems full blast again... :( Alas I dont think I can afford several hundred dollars a month in power bills. I currently have all of my computers in my new fourplex but only have my gaming pc (this one) and my netflix box running.

Well I have two of my 470s folding happily at 810/1728. My third gets too hot and NAN's on me. Luckily I happened across a third waterblock so eventually I will be able to get that plumbed in. Might have to add another rad to the set up though as she runs a little warm as it is. I wish this HAF X had a little more room lol, ya its sad when you get to that point lol. :D

Lol well Ted if you have a long extension cord I would have something to plug into it!
I got my covers all re-installed and my res topped up. I can now fold on my third 470 with reasonable temps.

Good to hear about your 280s as well!

Hmm still having some problems it would seem. The gpus are running at 99% but only one out of the three is getting good TPF's. Or I should say something like 1:17, 1:23, 4:11.... I though I even saw a 10min tpf at one point. I really wish I could have gotten tracker running again... This is still with no cpu. I fiddled with process lasso but no change.

Anyone have an idea why two of the three are running slow? Temps are all good, all OC'd to the same 810mhz. I am getting only 8378ppd, 9818ppd, and then the good ol 15270 which is right about normal....
