Smart Phone - Ipad

Have you become a slave?

Does it charge away every night to make life possible the next day?

Can your device hum or make a noise and be ignored, or must you excuse yourself and check who needs you on an oblivious rush basis.

My son needs the latest and greatest device, fully charged and on his hip at all times.

His life evolves around the messages that come in at a constant pace.

And he's not even a drug dealer, just connected via wireless and the Internet for his very existence.

If I sound bitter it's because I am.

I consider the phone an intrusion on my daily activities.

Try to sell me things or beg for money at your own peril.

If it wasn't for Doctor's appointments, tests, relatives I like and friends, I wouldn't even need a phone at all.

I sure don't need one attached to me every waking minute.

I can respond to messages.

Rose has a pre-smartphone and I had one for a short time.
Now it's her backup if required.

I watched Memphis Heat the other night and they turned in their old phones for newer smartphones.

The star took it in stride but the partner couldn't handle the complexity, or wouldn't try.

Here is the part that caused me to mention this.

They were at an old abandon building and looking in the window.

The star pulled out his phone and said I have an app for this.

The other guy was amazed and paid close attention.

He took the phone and used it to break in a window pane.

Smartphone humor I really enjoyed.

Are you addicted?

Is your phone a necessary part or your ability to exist?

Is the portion of your budget it commands a necessity now or still a luxury?

Fully capable I believe it averages around $100, or slightly less.

If your not making money off using it, could you live without it for even a week?

Broker, Real Estate salesperson, on call, etc., I understand.

Work probably even pays for it

My phone could do internet and text messaging but I didn't bother getting those things on my plan, just 450 voice minutes a month for $40, $46 after taxes.

Remember the Memphis Beat App for clandestine entry works with all phones.

Just sharply tap the glass in a circular fashion enabling you to reach in and open the door or window.

I just spent $200 getting a new phone.

When I first got my old one, I got internet on it, mostly as a whim. I didn't think it would be too important.

Now I find myself looking things up on the go, using the built-in GPS, and doing all sorts of things.

If I'm doing something, I can ignore my phone until I have time, but I try to respond quickly, cause I tend to be the go-to-guy when people have emotional issues.

I don't think I could ever go back to a "regular" phone at this point.

I purchased my first cell phone while my wife was hospitalized recently. It is intended only as emergency use.

It isn't even a smartphone, but a Tracfone. It can access the web, but I don't. I tried it on one occasion, and accidentally hit the "browser" button on a couple of other occasions.

Only family members and my manager at work have the number. I have a granddaughter who will text me (she taught me how to use the T9word function.) Sometimes, that is nothing more than a notice to get on Skype (she is in another state). Ironically, most of my incoming phone calls have been for the previous owner of the number I was assigned.

I find I use the daily appointment funtions to remind me when my wife should take her medications more than anything.

As little as I use it, a charge lasts a few days. Low maintenance is good for me.

If it wasn't for my wife's health condition, I wouldn't have gotten one. I can see the benefit of it in emergencies, so pay-as-you-go covers that use. I could manage without it, but peace of mind is worth the small amount I'll pay for minutes/service time. I haven't had it long enough to figure out my typical monthly usage yet, but I think $20 every other month should probably cover it.

I have a smartphone and tablet, both Android powered and I love them. Both were personal purchases though they do come in handy for work (IT) and my employer also gives me a small stipend to help cover the monthly cost.

Having access to the internet in my pocket is nearly indispensable to me. I have an app for just about everything, the only thing it doesn't do right now is F@H.

A smartphone for me is indispensable, well as far as im concerned anyways :D . Right now I have no access to internet, save for my smartphone. Right now im typing from my laptop, which is tethered to my iPhone. While at work or driving around I always have my phone. When I am at school I have no need for a land line as I always have my cell. The access to internet is amazing as I can look anything up immediately, or pop on the forums to see whats up. Engadget and facebook are some of my favs. Apps for weather always come in handy, particularily an environment Canada app that allows me quick access to recent radar information. I can see storms coming from miles away and now the severity. The included maps and gps have come in handy countless times when trying to find a house in the city. Im terrible with street addresses coming from the country, but with my trusty smart phone I can usually find your place. 8) Having a built in ipod makes it possible to only carry one device when I leave home. I can simply plug my phone in my truck and have music and hands free calling at the ready.
Simply put... Im addicted to my phone! :P

I have an LG EnV 2. I guess you could say it is a 'smart' phone as you can access the 'net but I don't use most of its features. Can't do apps tho.
I got it so that I could text with my nephew while he was in the Marines. I like the fold out keyboard of the phone. That's the only reason I got it.
I'll continue to have at least a basic function cell phone in the future. While traveling it is nice to have something for just-in-case.

I've had an iPhone for the last 2 1/2 years and I mainly used it as laptop replacement while away from home. I played games, surfed the web, watched YouTube videos and used it as a GPS.

I recently upgraded to an Android based Xperia arc and I'm glad that I switched. It is what I wanted the iPhone to be and more.

G- The iPad isn't a phone, bro. The iPad is a replacement for your laptops and other arcaic forms of technology like the one you use to make your posts. I have one and it controls my entire house, so yes, I charge it every night.

My iPhone however, is company issued and I only use it to text and email. Talking on the phone went the way of the covered wagon.
