i think my 8 core FX8120 should be a little less slow on this.

gonna restart the computer and hope it picks up speed.

I notice that is a SMP wu. Have you checked in Task Manager/Processes to see that it's getting 98-99 percent of CPU resources? The 8028 from what I can find has just been released from Beta.

Do you run Core Temp or some other CPU temperature monitoring software to make sure the CPU is not overheating and throttling back?

restarted the computer this morning before i went to work. now that i am back home, the ppd average is 18.9

task manager shows all 8 cores pegged at 100% as does the cpu widget.

core temp shows 35-36*c like it has for the past month(corsair h80)

this must be a horrible work unit as it has even caused my 660ti's to take a huge hit in points. they used to average ~35,000 a piece, and now they are down to ~23,000ppd each

also just checked afterburner, and the video cards aren't running at 100% useage...its studdering around up and down around 90%

when pausing the cpu work unit, the video cards jump straight back up to 99%

looks like its a sign for me to cut back on the folding like i had planned to earlier in the week.

This may not be popular, but let that SMP unit rest a few hours or over-night and let those GPUs bring your average back up, while a few of us chew on this one. Strange. Don't give up just yet, dude.

i paused the smp, let the gpu's finish, and then fired up the smp again. The time per frame sped up immensely. it went from 6+ DAYS left to 3 HOURS!

But this was not the reason to wind down the folding. The power bill arived and was way above average like i had figured it would be(roughly 1000kwh more then last month)

It was just very dissapointing to see a SMP WU have such an incompatability with GPU WU's when it has been performing flawlessly the last month. Oh well, the work got done, and sent off so hopefully it can help with the cause. hopefully its especially helpful since its different then all the rest...lol

Sometimes, we all receive a wu (usually smp) we've effectionately started calling a "luck of the draw wu" which we go right ahead
and fold. More times than not... well sometimes, we are rewarded with a few smps that fold without much or any trouble and may earn
some fair ppd for us.

All our computers run on electricity and the more we show-off (selectfully shop) for nice (multiple a** kicking) components the more we may expect to stop paying $5-10 a month to seeing $10-20 (for each box) extra on our electric bills. This month, maybe we can justify that, then multiple bills later it seems less exhilarating. I know, I've done all the above. I try spotting the sales for what I "need" these days.

We hate seeing our folding friends leave, but sometimes other projects need our attention and let's face it, sometimes paychecks disappear altogether. Whatever you decide, we respect your decision and the reasoning behind it. Meanwhile, though, we've had members of 11108 who use ingenuity and whatever they have, to pull off a win in a race to say, Top 100, like, chaosdsm! Congrats, man!
