I just built a new Recession Buster PC, and I'm amazed at the quality and performance for the cost: I'm interested in maximum PC's word on it. All components were bought retail boxed (except HDD), are newer models and top brand quality too
OS: Ubuntu 9.04/Vista Ultimate 64(From Old rig), Dual Boot but rarely use windows, Ubuntu is so good these days.
CPU- AMD Athlon II X2 240 @ 2.8GHz Dual Core 2mb L2 45nm 65w AM3 - Not to be confused with the Athlon X2.
MOBO(mATX)-MSI 785GTM-E45 w/785G+SB710 Radeon 4200HD AM2+, HDMI, 512mb Shared, 8 channel HD audio, 8GB Ram(max), PCIe x16 2.0, PCIe x1, 2x PCI, 6x SATA II, 12x Usb 2.0, Gigabit LAN
PSU- Corsair CX400 400w - 80Plus Certified - Top rated
Ram - OCZ "Blade" 4GB DDR2-800 2x 2GB Dual channel 5-5-5-15
HDD- WD Blue 500GB SATA II 7200RPM
DVD- Samsung 22x w/ Lightscribe
Case- AeroCool M40 cube, LCD Temp display- easy on the eyes, slick features,Very Cool
ALL for under $400, so I can add a sweet Radeon Card and still be at a very reasonable cost. I challenge anyone to find Speed/Quality/Green combo better for the price. This is actually is really fast for me, I'm not a gamer, and its not even OC'd (yet).
