I bought one of these off newegg awhile back for something like $60... can't imagine they've dropped too much in price.

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 921&depa=0 ... its been awhile but i think thats it. on my invoice its described as "POWER SUPPLY|ANTEC SL350BLUE 350 R"

soo.. its been used for a year or so, works fine and has everything from the original, whadyal think its worth?

Probably not more than 30 Bux. Most people are power hungry these days and capacitors in PSU's tend to go through the most ware and tare within the first year, then they settle into a normal power fluctuation scheme (gotta love being an engineering major... :? ). Putting this in a different system can put an un due strain on a power supply already "broken in" with another system.

Wha??

I can understand the price and all, but whats up with power fluctuations? Are you saying the capacitors and what have you actually attenuate themselves to a system? Thats crazy.

Crazy? Yup, but true. Just like a rechargeable battery, if you get its 'memory' level set to one place, it won't take a full charge no matter how long you leave it the charger. Capacitors are almost sort of like a battery. i.e., they store a charge.

Huh, I woulda thought capacitors would handle that sort of stuff better. eing designed for short term charges over long periods of time. :?
