That $10 extra at newegg gets you SATA 6.0GB/s instead of SATA 3.0GB/s. Double the bandwidth for $10 is a pretty good deal.

I assume your point is in regard to the unlikely possibility of ever reaching the bandwidth limit. Considering we're talking about a 7200RPM mechanical drive, it's a valid one to raise.

To be completely correct then, we should say double the average bandwidth, since for all intents and purposes we will never reach the maximum throughput. Mathematically speaking you can not double that which does not exist.
