I've got two IBM Thinkpad's i need appraisals on:
First, is a ThinkPad T23, here are the specs:
Intel Pentium 3 - 1.1 GHz
512 MB of RAM
DVD-ROM (which is the removable hot-swap type)
20 GB hard drive (may have a 30GB but don't think this will make a big difference in value)
10/100 Network card
56k modem (who care's about this anymore...??)
(2) PCMIA card slots
Keyboard with trackpoint (both are in good condition, works fine)
(2) USB 1.1 ports
Power adapter & battery (battery probably doesn't hold a charge -- haven't tested).
Windows XP (I think it's Pro) with all the updates
14.1" matte TFT screen
Sound & (I think) 32MB Radeon 7000-series video
How much would this system be worth: a.) with a working battery, b.) without a working battery
Computer works fine without problems. It's about 9 years old. Screen is clean and clear of problems or defects
Second is another ThinkPad, but this one is a T21 (a year older than the T23).
Pentium 3 - 800 Mhz
384 MB of RAM
10 GB Hard Drive
Windows 2000 Pro (Can run Windows XP fine. Came with Win98)
4x CD Burner & 1.44MB floppy disk drive
AC Adapter & battery (battery does not work on this unit, but the unit works fine plugged in)
Keyboard & trackpoint (botk are clean of defects and work fine)
Has 10/100 network card but it does not work (dead)
Has a 56k modem but that does not work either (dead)
(2) PCMIA card slots (they both work fine)
14.1" matte TFT screen (works fine ,free of defects or problems)
I think it has a 32MZB video card
(2) USB 1.1 ports
Estimated value of this machine?
My conclusions are this:
About $75-100 for the T23 and maybe around $50 for the T21. I may even throw in my copy of Office 2007 for the T23 as well, to maybe help boost the value a little... I have the OEM restore CDs for both units (the T23 came with WinXP, and the T21 came with Win98, but i upgraded it to 2000. But the buyer will only get the Win98 restore CD for I don't have the Windows 2000 Cd any more).
Bot machines work and are usable, and for the T21, they network card issue can be fixed with a PCMIA add-in card which is like $15-20.
